WineRelease.com's May 15, 2023 Monthly Newsletter.

This month we had 181 winery updates and 117 wineries releasing wine.

Another big month of updates and wine releases.

Last month, we embarked on a remarkable culinary adventure at Vantre restaurant, an exquisite restaurant nestled in the heart of Paris. Accompanied by two other couples, our evening unfolded into an extraordinary wine affair. The air buzzed with anticipation as the ladies delightedly requested flutes of effervescent Champagne. Meanwhile, we, eager to experience the depths of aged wines, confided in Marco, the esteemed owner of the establishment.

With a knowing smile, Marco whisked himself away to his coveted cellar, home to an impressive collection of 50,000 bottles. His hands caressed the dust-covered gems, searching for the perfect selection to ignite our palates. Moments later, he triumphantly emerged, cradling a bottle of 1985 Domaine M.C. Derats-Dumay Meursault, a time-capsule of flavors waiting to be unveiled.

As he skillfully uncorked the treasure, a symphony of aromas enveloped the room, transporting us to a bygone era. Savoring each sip, the wine whispered tales of sun-kissed vineyards and meticulous craftsmanship. The seamless interplay of oak and fruit danced upon our tongues, leaving us awe-struck and entranced.

But Marco was not yet done enchanting us. With a flourish, he presented a 1990 Font Vignal Crozes-Hermitage, shrouded in mystery beneath a delicate napkin. A challenge was set before us, an opportunity to engage our senses and unravel the enigma. Its velvety texture and opulent bouquet sent us on a journey of flavors, tantalizingly familiar yet elusive. In our bewildered state, we ventured a guess, it must be a grand Burgundy, we declared. Little did we know, the wine had fooled even the most discerning palates.

Our journey through time continued with the unveiling of a hidden gem, a 1972 Volnay Rossignol-Simon, cloaked in secrecy. Anticipation filled the air as we raised our glasses to the aged elixir within. Each sip unveiled layers of complexity, the testament of decades of evolution. Time had bestowed upon this wine an otherworldly grace, offering a symphony of delicate notes that lingered on the palate, forever etching itself in our memory.

As the evening drew to a close, we indulged in one final flourish, a 1975 Languedoc, a testament to the terroir that bore it. With every sip, we bid adieu to a night filled with unparalleled culinary delights and wines that transcended time. Our epic wine dinner at Vantre had come to an end, leaving us with memories and stories to be shared for years to come.
