WineRelease.com's August 15, 2022 Monthly Newsletter.

This month we had 114 winery updates and 56 wineries releasing wine.

Greetings once again from the south of France in Saint-Remy-de-Provence.

After Burgundy, Chateauneuf-du-Pape is my second favorite wine region in France and last week I visited Chateauneuf-du-Pape for the third time since we began our vacation here in July and one of my favorite CDP discoveries is Domaine Durier (10 Av. Baron le Roy, 84230 Chateauneuf-du-Pape). Their entry level CDP is € 21 ($21.33 as of today's exchange rate) and they have a great line up of Rhone and CDP white and reds. Their Grenache dominant Lucile Avril is their reserve CDP and at € 28 is a bargain.

The vineyards are full of rocks that absorb heat during the day and release it during the night.

Cute streets.

The advantage of CDP is the ability to taste from many different domaines as the city center has many winery tasting rooms within a 10 minute walk (Clos Des Papes, Domaine Olivier Hillaire, Clos Saint Jean, Domaine Usseglio Raymond & Fils, Chateau Fortia Sarl, Ogier, Domaine Juliette Avril, Clos du Mont-Olivet, Perrin Family of wines, Domaine du Pegau, to name a few).

We visited Chateau La Nerthe, which is 4 minutes from the center of town, then parked our car in the middle of town and visited the Famille Perrin tasting room (Chateau de Beaucastel, La Vieille Ferme, Miraval, Clos Des Tourelles, Tablas Creek in Paso Robles and others), Clos du Mont-Olivet (a white CDP I discovered at Pertinence restaurant in Paris), Jean Pierre Boisson, Domaine Moulin-Tacussel and had a great lunch at La Part Des Anges.

And now, onto the wine releases...
