WineRelease.com's May 15, 2011 Monthly Newsletter.

Greetings from WineRelease.com, now 1,753 winery listings strong!

Since our trip last month to Walla Walla, weve been fairly homebound in the beautiful city of San Francisco, other than a few trips up to the Mendocino coast for abalone diving. For those whove been around for a while, you may recall that Im well into my fifteenth year of this fun sport, the fruits of which are enjoyed every year at our annual abalone feed, featuring fresh Northern California coastal abalone (sliced thinly, pounded, then lightly fried in an egg wash and Panko bread crumb crust) and of course, many delicious wines. In addition to some of those that we ordered on the Walla Walla trip, two sponsors packages arrived in good time for the annual feed, Lulas 2009 Mendocino Pinot Noir (very fitting) and Maras Laughlin Road Ranch 2008 Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley. Both were huge crowd pleasers and went very well with the meal.

We turned our small San Francisco flat into a dining hall for the evening and managed to seat 35 or so good friends from various walks of life. I lost count of the wines that were poured throughout the night, a nice mixture of reds and whites from California to Washington to other parts of the world, but it gave me great pleasure to share my passion for wine, as I looked around the rooms at our friends enjoying many of those that I come across each month in preparation of this newsletter.

Along those lines, Ive got a small change to the newsletter that Ill be implementing beginning this month. To date, I have listed the next months releases in the current issue. So, typically, on May 15th, I would be sending you the June release dates that I have received up to time of publication; therefore, your May issue features solely June release dates. What Ive begun to notice is that in many instances, I may not receive release dates until beyond my publication date, sometimes well into the month of release. Looking at this month as an example, Ive received a number of May releases since the April 15th issue was published. Beginning this month, I will now include the current month (of publication)s releases (both those that were previously known, as well as new updates), and the upcoming month that you have always seen. This means that your May 15th issue includes a more robust May listing than you saw in the April 15th issue, and a June list that contains the information we have to date. Junes issue will include an updated June as well as the July updates that have been received at time of publication. And so forth and so on.

I hope that you are all able to enjoy the spring weather and will take advantage of the still cool temperatures in many parts of the country as youre purchasing wines to be shipped to add to your collections.

And now, onto the wine.
