WineRelease.com's June 15, 2004 Monthly Newsletter

Greetings from WineRelease.com, now 943 winery listings strong!

Thanks to all who responded to my survey last month. Here are the averages for people who subscribe to this newsletter:
  • 30% drink 7-10 glasses of wine a week
  • 30% purchased 11-20 cases of wine last year
  • 23% own 21-50 cases of wine
  • 23% pay on average $20-$29 per 750ml
  • 54% of the wine purchased last year was purchased to age one + years
  • 84% are male
  • 34% are 45-54 years young
  • 44% have college degrees, 41% have a postgraduate degree
  • 73% are consumers (not involved in the wine industry)
  • 30% have found 4-5 new wineries because of WineRelease.com
  • 40% have purchased from 1-3 new wineries after discovering them on WineRelease.com
  • 86% also visited WineSpectator.com in the past 30 days, 43% visited eRobertParker.com, 38% visited Wine-Searcher.com
  • 87% subscribe to Wine Spectator, 47% Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 43% Food and Wine

July and August releases tend to be limited because of high summer temperatures which make shipping an issue.

Next week I am heading to New York - Paris - London - New York for a few weeks of R&R. So I will respond to emails upon my return on 7/13.

And now, on to the show...
